Ade Morris
Freelance writer, playwright, theatre director
Ade has written and directed for a wide range of commissions, including the Watermill Theatre main house and national touring, - and including plays for young people, screenplays and radio, for theatre in education, special needs groups, and for professional training.
Ade has particular directing experience in touring theatre, and in new writing, but has also worked extensively with young people, students of all ages, and with large scale community theatre. Ade devises and leads workshops on just about everything, but is a particular specialist in new and creative writing, dramaturgy, impro and mask work.
Ade started out as an actor, mainly in community touring, so learned the ropes on the road the old fashioned way. He spent some time in stage and production management as well, so has a very pragmatic approach to making theatre, - less is always more in his book, and the basic skills of effective writing and clear communication of ideas are what cut it in the end.
